ESET provides a solid firewall engine and anti-malware software. It also has a password manager that includes forms, browser protection and a password manager. Its parental controls as well as secure browser and anti-theft tools are also good however they aren’t outstanding. It doesn’t offer VPN or microphone protection, however it does offer remote screen capture or camera access to check what a criminal has been doing on your phone or laptop.

We really liked the way that ESET Internet Security shows you how it is protecting your computer by providing a status bar at the top of the screen and also provides detailed protection statistics. If something is happening that is significant on your computer or you need to take action, the program displays precise and concise alerts on the desktop close to the system tray.

However the anti-phishing tools of the antivirus were a bit over-vigilant and it blocked quite a handful of websites that were not listed on PhishTank which I have confidence in. It also tests USB storage devices when they are plugged into our laptop. This was a bit annoying, as most other applications require permission.
